For me is the most beautiful church is St. Peter Church (for free to visit!), but the Cathedral is also wonderful, of course (the entree for the Cathedral costs 5 euros /adult).
Where exactly was the movie „The Sound of Music“ shot?
In Salzburg and the surrounding area. In the city of Salzburg there are the „Do-re-mi“ staircase, Pegasus, dwarfs in the Mirabell Gardens; a fountain on Residenzplatz, a horse bath on Karajanplatz; but also the castles of Leopoldskron and Fronburg. And in the Hellbrunn Gardens you will find the pavilion/gazebo (where Lisl sang „I’m 16, going on 17“). The cathedral, the nunnery and the cemetery (where the Trapp family hid) can also be visited in Salzburg.

Where can I find the most beautiful panoramic view of the city?
On the hill Mönchsberg, on the hill Kapuzienerberg and of course from the Fortress Hohensalzburg.
Is Salzburg a safe city?
Yes, but try to avoid the train station area in the darkness and also the parks/hills. On the most beautiful street Getreidegasse in the old town and in other overcrowded places there are some pickpockets, targeting tourists.
Is Salzburg overcrowded?
Yes, especially in the most beautiful seasons and at Christmas time.
What is the best way to get to Salzburg?
It is best to travel by train or bus. If you have to fly, it is mostly much more cheaper to fly to Munich or Vienna and then take a train to Salzburg.
May I swim in the river in Saltzburg? Where may I swim?
In the city of Salzburg it is forbidden to swim in the river (it is too dangerous, because the streem is too strong). But there are many lakes around Salzburg in the Salzkammergut region to swim or just take a city bus 7 and you will come to a lake that is right in the city of Salzburg and is for free to swim!
